Our booking is flexible, so I am trying to determine whether to go to Miyajima as a day trip, or cancel one night in Hiroshima and book a night in Miyajima. Wondering if that’s sufficient or should I stay the night to have a nicer feel of what the town is like. We’re a family of 2 adults and 3 children and we don’t intend to have onsen baths. Purely exploring the town and probably go up the rope way.

I am in the very early stages of planning my itinerary in Japan and I am not sure if I an too much/too little time to any of the following place: Tokyo: 4 full days. Hakone: 1.5 days. Kyoto, including day trips: 5 days.

Plan so far-. 10 night WA (with hire car) flight to Adelaide for 3 nights (friend lives here) . Hire car here and drive to Melbourne via GOR maybe staying a couple of nights along the way. 4 nights Melbourne.
