My friend and I don’t want to do an organized tour but I would like some help making some arrangements. In the past on other trips I have used local travel agencies to do this.

If you feel you won't go back to Japan in the foreseeable future, then perhaps it's worth the trip to Kyoto. In that case, I suggest you spend Monday through Wednesday at Tokyo.

Would anyone know the official Shinkansen site that I should be using to book Shinkansen travel from Osaka to tokyo (1 way). I noticed different sites and prices vary greatly. Many thanks in advance and with appreciation.
