Before our trip I spent time browsing this forum and it was very helpful. What follows are a few tips and comments regarding our experience with various forms of transportation while there.

We are 2 adults + 2 kids ( 6/11). we wish to cover Otaru ,Biei, Sapporo and nearby places with activities for kids like farm visit,fruit picking, factory visits ,adventure,snow,culture,nature.

Our booking is flexible, so I am trying to determine whether to go to Miyajima as a day trip, or cancel one night in Hiroshima and book a night in Miyajima. Plan so far-. 10 night WA (with hire car) flight to Adelaide for 3 nights (friend lives here) . Hire car here and drive to Melbourne via GOR maybe staying a couple of nights along the way. 4 nights Melbourne.
