5 天前 · My next plan was to do the Suica app but having downloaded it, it's all in Japanese, so that's not too helpful. We fly into Osaka, then 5 days in Kyoto, and 6 in Tokyo , what's our best option for a travel card.

Having already been to more southern parts of Japan before, I opted to do Nikko and Sendai (as a jumping off place more than as a destination in its own right) in addition to Tokyo for this trip with my older teen daughter.
3 天前 · 125 posts. 16th Day report of 21 day trip. May 26, 2024, 8:34 AM. 1. Today will be Kanazawa day. Morning 7.44 Thunderbird to Tsuruga and connecting train Kagayaki 508 to Kanazawa. Kyoto to Tsuruga journey was very picturesque. Mountains one side, the other side water... it was beautiful. Could observe extensive usage of Solar energy.

Since next 2-3 days are rainy, just wondering if experts here have any suggestions how to spend time. We were planning to visit Hakone and local tourist places in Tokyo, but not sure if those plans are feasible with rain.

Understand the cost for JR pass has gone up from October last year and cost almost AU$500 for 7 days.. then read few articles and there's national pass for around $50 of 7 days . I'm confused and not sure what's the difference! The plan of the travel under the 7 days pass will include:

I am planning a trip to Narita with the first week on business for which I will need to use a laptop. then I will take about 2-3 weeks off to travel around rest of Japan and possibly to some other parts of Asia before returning to Narita to fly back ...
6 天前 · Re: Narita to Conrad - grab Suica / Passmo on the way. Narita Express is almost exclusively for tourists so you don’t need to worry about the rush hour.
