3 天前 · 2024年5月27日. 政府宣布暫緩實施都市固體廢物收費，政務司副司長卓永興表示，實施垃圾收費的社會影響面屬史無前例，經先行先試計劃發現執行等問題，必須正視，是次暫緩實施是務實和正確的決定。 卓永興今日出席立法會相關事務委員會聯席會議後會見傳媒時說，垃圾收費原定去年底實施，但由於清潔行業表示人手不足，當局遂將之押後，而到今年初，隨着4月1日措施落實日期迫近，不少市民提出關注和反對。 政府4月1日起在14處地點推行為期八個星期的先行先試計劃。 卓永興指，在先行先試過程中察覺到過往無人討論的問題，事情在書面和法例上看並無不妥，深入實踐時便浮現而須正視。 此外，1月至今進行的不同調研顯示七至八成市民反對8月1日實施垃圾收費。 政府施政為民，暫緩實施垃圾收費屬務實、正確，甚至是唯一決定。
