5 天前 · Walking tour recommendations in Japan. May 24, 2024, 7:55 PM. Hello! I am planning on going to Japan in late October/early November with my mother. We would like to do some hiking while we are there - likely a multi-day walk/hike like the Nakasendo Way or Kumano Kodo Trail.
6 天前 · We travel mid-range with an occassional splurge on luxury. We love culture, walks, nature, landscape. We are all very independent and active. We want to experience some of Japan's cities but also enjoy smaller, quieter towns in the countryside. Below is a draft of our 3-week itinerary planned for either mid April or mid May 2025.
3 天前 · 2nd: Tokyo. 3rd: Tokyo. 4th: Tokyo to Nagano: Interested in onsen and snow monkeys. 5th: Nagano to Shirakawa-go: Afternoon and evening in the village, staying at a farm house for the quieter country vibe. 6th: Shirakawa-go to Kyoto. 7th: Kyoto. 8th: Kyoto, possibly day trip to Nara. 9th: Kyoto to Hakone: Ropeway, Lake Ashi and Mt Fuji sights.

Our rough draft itinerary looks like this - Tokyo x7 nights arriving late evening - Kanazana x 2 nights, Takayama x 3 nights, Kyoto x 4 nights. Hiroshima x 2.

Wondering if that’s sufficient or should I stay the night to have a nicer feel of what the town is like. We’re a family of 2 adults and 3 children and we don’t intend to have onsen baths. Purely exploring the town and probably go up the rope way.

5 天前 · First Time Visitor- Tokyo- looking for multi day guide. Family of 3 planning on visiting Tokyo and surrounding area in late August. Expect to be there for 10-12 days. Planning on starting in Tokyo and seeking recommendations for an English speaking tour guide who can plan a land tour for us to see the top sights by car and train outside of Tokyo.
