4 天前 · I am so confused by train tickets. I’m the main planner for our group of 6 and I’m trying to figure out the easiest way to plan ahead of time. I’m worried about having to stop and get tickets and waiting in line when we’re trying to make a connection to a reserved train.

5 天前 · I expect we may have 2-3 day trips (including Nara & Osaka) from Kyoto and 4-5 day trips from Tokyo, depending on the weather (many rainy days or not) and our pace of doing things in Kyoto / Tokyo. After some research, I think we may be more interested in the following day trips (in order of interest). From Kyoto:

The coverage area is explained here: https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2361_arch.html. If you travel only from Tokyo to Kyoto and Amanohashidate, then there will be no rail pass that will pay off. by Uji.
