4 天前 · 15th Day report of 21 day trip. Today was to be a rest and recharge day, however after a getting a good night sleep was set to go out. So the plan of doing Himeji and Hiroshima was slightly altered ,and decided to do Himeji today, so that 1 full day I can go around Hiroshima. So took Shinkansen.. sakura 549 to Himeji from Shin osaka ..9.20 am.

Having already been to more southern parts of Japan before, I opted to do Nikko and Sendai (as a jumping off place more than as a destination in its own right) in addition to Tokyo for this trip with my older teen daughter.

Since next 2-3 days are rainy, just wondering if experts here have any suggestions how to spend time. We were planning to visit Hakone and local tourist places in Tokyo, but not sure if those plans are feasible with rain.
