Guangdong ( UK: / ɡwæŋˈdʊŋ /, US: / ɡwɑːŋ -/ [6] ), formerly romanized as Kwangtung or Canton, is a coastal province located in South China, on the north shore of the South China Sea. [7] The provincial capital is Guangzhou.
