9 years ago. China Unicom does not have a retail network in Hong Kong. So the SIM card may work, but it will be on a "roaming" basis, just as your Aussie sim card will work in HK on a roaming basis. You would have to check with China Unicom to find out if the card is even set for international roaming, and what the rates would be.
