Premature baby 1-2 drops/kg daily. Fe deficiency w/o anaemia Therapy takes about 1-2 mth. Adult & adolescent >12 yr 20-40 drops daily. Childn 1-12 yr 10-20 drops daily. Infant <1 yr 6-10 drops daily. Dosage/Direction for Use. FC tab Adult & childn ≥12 yr 120 mg or 180 mg once daily before meal. Oral susp Adult & childn ≥12 yr Allergic rhinitis 10 mL (60 mg) bd. Seasonal allergic rhinitis 20 mL (120 mg) or 30 mL (180 mg) once daily. Urticaria 30 mL (180 mg) once daily.
Contraception & idiopathic menorrhagia Women of fertile age Insert 1 unit into the uterine cavity w/in 7 days of the onset of menstruation. 1 administration is effective for 5 yr. Initial release: Approx 20 mcg/day. Post-partum insertion Postpone insertion until uterus is fully involuted. Do not insert earlier than 6 wk after delivery.
Form. Bredicon tab 0.075 mg. Packing/Price. 1 × 28's. Bredicon (desogestrel): Prevent pregnancy. Can be used by women not tolerating oestrogens & by breastfeeding women.
Indications and Dosage. Adult: Initially, 5 mg daily preferably 30 minutes before breakfast, increased to 7.5 mg daily on the 2nd week then to 10 mg on the 3rd week. Max: 20 mg daily, as necessary. Individualised dosage depending on the severity and patient’s response.
