2024年3月31日 · 櫻花節大野餐 (Big Picnic)昨日10時半正式開始，多名政要出席開幕儀式，包括卑詩就業、經濟發展及創新廳長貝雅麗 (Brenda Bailey)、日本駐溫哥華總領事丸山浩平 (Kohei Maruyama)及省議員屈潔冰。 大會表示，活動得到多級政府的補助和支持才可以順利舉行。 一眾主禮嘉賓手持木槌敲開清酒桶蓋為活動正式揭開序幕。 丸山浩平表示，希望在公園內綻放的櫻花可以轉化成一個「世界和平」的祝願，來自不同背景的人都可以一同欣賞櫻花之美，並希望各國政府可以用心地維持外交關係，就像公園內的櫻花樹獲悉心照料一樣。
2024年4月8日 · 不少人昨日在公園草地野餐，順道體驗日本文化。 （文莉莎攝） 【明報專訊】列治文加里岬公園 (Garry Point Park)昨日迎來一年一度的櫻花節。 數千人興致勃勃從大溫各地趕來踏春賞花，邊吃邊玩，體驗日本傳統文化。 昨日上午春光明媚，天氣微涼，有人盛裝打扮，有人牽着愛犬，還有不少家庭一家老小齊出動，相繼來到加里岬公園。 作為慶祝春天到來和櫻花盛開的節日，昨日的活動從上午11時開始，列治文市長馬保定 (Malcolm Brodie)聯同多名市議員、史蒂夫斯頓選區省議員葛凱莉 (Kelly Greene)以及數名日本社區領袖亦出席活動。 馬保定在發言中表示，在很多年前，列治文的居民主要是來自日本的移民，而「列治文一直以來都是最大的日裔加拿大社區之一，該社區為列治文作出了非凡的貢獻」。
