    既然使用的守則如此清晰，為什麼香港的迴旋處還會引致不少交通意外呢？最主要是因為汽車駛出時的優先權問題。 使用傳統迴旋處 -> 內線的車輛要讓外綫行駛的車輛先離開 使用新式螺旋處 -> 恰好相反，外線的車輛要讓內線的車輛先離開 無論是新舊迴旋處，駛入要望右，駛出要望左，以防有車輛從左後方越過你的路線。另外，也要留意車身較長的汽車，在駛入和駛出迴旋處時，可能會越線行駛。 其實之所以有新式螺旋處的出現，是因為舊式迴旋處會令內線司機離開時連環切線，增加車禍風險，因此運輸署才會自 2004 年起試推行新的螺旋形迴旋處。不過現時香港 327 個迴旋處中，只有 23 個螺旋處，僅佔總數的 7%。新舊迴旋處並存，與及不同的讓路規則，一樣令意外頻生。
