1. Re: Shiga Kogen vs. Hakuba. 16 years ago. Shigakogen has a number of resorts scattered around: Hoppo, Maruike, Takamagahara, Ichinose, Okushiga and etc; the same can be said of the Hakuba area: Happo-one, Iwatake, Tsugaike and etc. Perhaps the one that draws the most skiers in each area is Happo-one and Ichinose.

If you get off JR Kosei Line at Hieizan-Sakamoto before JR Ogoto, you can take a Ropeway toward Mt. Hiheizan, where you can enjoy Enryakuji Temple and Autumn Colors in mid November.
