There are plenty of hostel in a river side, we staid in Yinji inn, very nice and helpful stuff. You should consider that in an old town you should not expect perfect hotel they all are hostel type.

   Lovely staff, rooms very small. A lovely hotel, good location near Victoria Harbour and shopping district. We took a hop on and hop off tour to see Kowloon, Hong Kong and Stanley, we also took the ferry over and back. Great service but very expensive @$150 AUD for one adult and child.
