2017年7月18日 · 身在捷克，在一個偌大的劇院，跟過千的西方觀眾一起看《奧戈》的經驗是很奇妙的。 那種奇妙，不只是因為在一個東歐國家的電影銀幕上看到最熟悉的澳門——荷蘭園、望德堂、八角亭、阿婆井，還有的，是看到一個其實沒太多人關心的澳門故事如何被帶到國際舞台上，而又得到西方觀眾的認可。 澳門故事，原來可以這樣打動地球另一端的觀眾。 《奧戈》這次出徵捷克的卡羅維發利（Karlovy Vary）國際影展，意義非淺。 首先，這影展的知名度雖然不及康城、柏林、威尼斯，但它其實也是歐洲所公認的一級影展。 這次雖然沒有得獎，但在官方刊物上，好幾個大會指定的國際影評人都給《奧戈》甚高評價，實在雖敗猶榮。 另外，遠在捷克重看《奧戈》，我也再次思考：澳門的故事，從何說起？ 由誰說起？ 本土創作人的本土視野.

1995年1月1日 · 《和平飯店》有一個典型類型電影的開端：貌似苦命的女子（吳倩蓮）被殺，男主角與小孩安詳地耍樂，走投無路的人可以有個安樂窩容身。 但真相逐步呈現，逃離飯店的兩個人，被暗示為給周潤發所殺。 原來這個安樂窩中的人不是被周潤發庇護，而是被他囚禁。 吳倩蓮則好酒爛賭，周吳也並無浪漫愛情故事，他只喜歡她會唱歌。 最後，十年前的秘密也真相大白，周親手殺了接受不了他的專橫的手下。 原來周是《現代啟示錄》（Apocalyse Now）中的馬龍・白蘭度（Marlon Brando），而秦豪就是馬田．辛（Martin Sheen）。 主角由英雄變為反英雄，忠奸位置也對調了。 雖然電影由頭到尾有葉童在旁去重新肯定周的英雄形象，但類型電影的典型英雄觀念一旦被推翻，即使葉童有the last say，她的話也再無說服力。
