2016年7月8日 · 今年異常炎熱的夏天，王穎來到台北電影節，帶來了他的新作《女人沉睡時》（While the Women Are Sleeping），改編西班牙作家的短篇小說，故事處理的是人較為複雜的心理層面，形式上選擇在現實與虛幻層面之間穿梭，雖然讓觀眾有些摸不著頭緒，但如此開放式的敘事風格，亦給予讀者自由的詮釋空間。 片子看似抹去了導演擅長處理離散華人、世代隔閡等主題的作者印記，但如果說這部片是王穎不同於以往作品的嘗試，那就是他在主流與獨立電影不斷往返之間，另一種新的途徑。
