保法止 (Finasteride)及適尿通 (Dutasteride)均為香港常用的5-甲型還原酶抑製劑，它可以阻止睾酮 (Testosterone)轉化成雙氫睾酮 (Dihydrotestosterone)，為前列腺增生的第二線治療。 這類藥物主要作用於前列腺上皮，可以縮小前列腺體積和改善症狀但需要3至6個月時間才能達到最佳療效 (前列腺體積縮小30%)。 而改善下泌尿道症狀效果在前列腺明顯增大的患者 (>30毫升)上較明顯。 不良反應有性慾減退 (約百分之二至三)、射精量減少 (約百分之三)及勃起功能障礙 (約百分之五)。 小貼士.

非那雄胺 （ INN ：finasteride）又译 非那斯特萊 、 非那司提 、 非那甾胺 ，是治療 前列腺增生 和 雄性禿 的藥物，也用於女性毛髮過度生長 [1] [2] 。 非那斯特萊會抑制頭髮毛囊的 第二型5α還原酶 （type 2 5-alpha reductase），使 双氢睾酮 （Dihydrotestosterone，DHT）的濃度降低。 這是由於第二型5α還原酶能夠將 睪固酮 轉換成双氢睾酮，DHT即是掉髮的元凶，因此非那斯特萊能有效減少掉髮。 但有可能會降低 性能力 ，停用藥物後，性功能障礙症狀會消失，但還會持續掉髮。 亦有少數報告指出可能會引起憂鬱及自殺傾向 [3] 。 柔沛 （Propecia 保康絲）的主成份即是非那斯特萊。
