We have 3 nights in Shinjuku on arrival, join an organised tour for 6 nights, then have a further 7 nights by ourselves in Tokyo.

Not sure if you can hire one person for 10 hours in one stretch. Work regulations are getting strict for drivers, ie long distance bus drivers have to take a break every two hours.
