We took the train from Tokyo to Kamakura to see the Great Buddha. We walked through the town to the Buddha so we could see the sights. It was Amazing. Cast in 1252 when Kamakura was an Ancient Capitol of Japan (1192-1333). The statue is 36 feet in height, weighs 93 tons and is the third largest Bronze Buddha in Japan.

2018年4月17日 · Well-displayed 13th century sacred statues. May 2024 • Friends. Quiet and cool, they do a great job of conserving and displaying treasures from temples around Kamakura, mostly sacred Buddhist sculptures from the 12th century and scroll paintings from later. Very nice chance to see these treasures up close and well lit.
