The University of Hong Kong Libraries was established in 1912. The Main Library comprises an all-rounded collection of materials in the arts, humanities, architecture, social sciences, and science and technology, giving vital support to teaching and research in the University.
Welcome to the University of Hong Kong Libraries (HKUL). HKUL was established in 1912 and is the oldest academic library in Hong Kong with over two million volumes of collections. It now comprises the Main Library and six specialist branch libraries and they are located in buildings around the campus with varying opening hours.

The Main Library comprises a collection on the arts, education, humanities, architecture, social sciences, and science & technology. It also houses the Special Collections which focuses on Hong Kong materials and other specialised collections including Western rare books on China.
