2020年1月20日 · 這座莊嚴瑰麗的凈土宗寺院建於昭和11年 (1936年)，被日本政府指定為國寶級的建築，是富商耕三和上為了追悼亡母而修建了30年的寺廟，所以耕三寺又有「母親寺」之稱。 這裡可算是日本寺廟特色的集大成者，不少建築細節都是參考至國內有名的寺廟，例如日光東照宮的陽明門、平等院的鳳凰堂，難怪廟內某隅總令人產生似曾相識的錯覺，同時也衍生了「西日之光」的另一美稱，吸引一眾喜愛寺廟文化的旅客到來。 寺廟內的建築群幾乎都是參照江戶時代的佛教建築模式，當中院內的多寶塔更是參照滋賀縣大津國寶石山寺內多寶塔而建的；又如高約10米的救世觀音大尊像，都是景內尤其矚目的建築。 除了細看建築美學以外，院內的3號館「法寶藏」、4號館「僧寶藏」和金剛館都是常設的展覽館，展示出耕三往日搜集回來的美術品，例如雕刻、繪畫、工藝等。

但到底甚麼時候吃鰻魚飯最適合呢？ 就像台灣的農曆一樣，日本也有二十四節氣，依據古人的智慧，從二十四節氣裡找到「土用丑日」（日文：土用の丑の日，どようのうしのひ），在對的時間，吃對的食材，以達到養身的功效。 先來說說「土用」與「土用丑日」是甚麼？ 二十四節氣裡，有立春、立夏、立秋、立冬四個節氣，同時搭配中國古代曆法的「陰陽五行」，金、木、水、火，其中春為木、夏為火、秋為金、冬為水，而剩下另一個五行元素「土」則是在四季轉變之際，例如立春當日的前18～19天期間，為土的時間，即稱為「土用」，因此一年四季裡其實共有四次的土用，又以夏季的土用，也就是立秋前的18～19天，最常被點名，為夏季品嘗鰻魚的最佳時間。
