14 years ago. Both my husband and I were completely unprepared for the level of prostitution in Shanghai around Peoples Square and Nanjing Road East. We had read about Shanghai, looked on tripadvisor etc. and there was very little about it besides men alone might be approached. Nothing could have prepared us for what we saw.

Jun 2023 • Solo. Address is 726 Yananxi Rd, if you Didi type in Shanghai Propaganda Poster Art Centre. It’s on the 7th floor. Beautiful collection with descriptions / history to help you learn more about China’s past. There is a lovely souvenir shop where you can buy very affordable replicas, or invest in original pieces.
This lovely, tree-lined neighborhood bordering the Pearl River was once home to foreign merchants, and today is a laid-back area ideal for strolling or stopping for a meal or cup of tea. 4. Chen Clan Ancestral Hall. A must-see attraction, with a history of more than 100 years and still in its original shape.
