Hong Kong International School was founded in 1966 by Christian business leaders and members of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. The school provides an American-style education with a Christian context, while also respecting the spirituality of other faiths.

Hong Kong International School (HKIS) is a co-educational private international school in Hong Kong with campuses in Tai Tam and Repulse Bay, serving students from Reception 1 to Grade 12. The Repulse Bay campus houses the Lower and Upper Primary Divisions, while Tai Tam houses the Middle and High School Divisions.

【2023年全港國際學校詳細列表】 (HK International School List) 在2022/23學年，全港共有54國際學校和7所提供非本地課程的私立學校，除了英基學校協會轄下的學校部份受政府資助外，所有國際學校均是私立小學，亦即是由辦學團體自資經營，由校董會自行管理，沒有政府的資助。 所以學校擁有完全獨立的收生自主權，包括學生地區，面試日期和形式等，但按教育局的指引，應該不設筆試。 而部份國際學校會有收生安排上設有提名權計劃（Nomination Right）、債權證計劃（Debenture）等方式，家長應留意行使的方法、轉讓安排及退款程序等細則。 課程上，國際學校亦享受極大的自主性，當中不少學校亦會提供IB課程 (International Baccalaureate)。
