2022年12月15日 · Eight codes of professional conduct required of teachers are compiled, namely "Uphold professional belief", "Honour the rule of law", "Be a role model", "Uphold probity and integrity", "Be committed and responsible", "Care for students", "Respect privacy" and "Safeguard professionalism".
香港教育專業人員協會創會至今48年，一直與教育界攜手同行，為提升教育專業和教師權益而奮鬥，對廣大會員的支持，教協心存感激。 但遺憾的是，近年社會和政治環境改變，加上近期一些急劇發展，教協承受巨大壓力，面對嚴峻的危機，理事會已盡最大努力尋求繼續運作的方法，但至今未能看到前景，在難以延續工作目標，及無法找到化解危機的方案下，經理事會一致通過及監事支持，決定解散教協，並立即啟動相關程序。 教協於1973年由平民教育家司徒華先生與一群熱心老師共同創立，由渡船角文景樓一個細小的辦事處開始，為教師提供不同服務，跟進和捍衛教師權益，經歷多屆理事和會員的努力，教協憑著勤儉辦會的宗旨不斷擴展會務，令教協成為香港一個家傳戶曉的名字，陪伴會員以至所有港人見證不少歷史時刻，走過接近半世紀的時光。
2023年9月28日 · Section 42 of the Education Ordinance stipulates that any person who teaches in a school has to be either a registered teacher or a permitted teacher. Hence, school and teacher concerned should submit application for teacher registration as soon as the appointment has been confirmed and prior to the teacher's assumption of duty.
The Hong Kong Professional Teachers' Union (HKPTU) was a pro-democracy trade union, professional association and social concern group in Hong Kong. At the time of its disbandment in 2021, it was the largest teachers' organisation in Hong Kong with over 95,000 members, representing over 90 per cent of the profession.
