2018年5月21日 · There are several Apple stores in Shanghai. Buy from there. I bought an IPhone from Auchan in China. Works fine everywhere in the world. Note that prices may be higher in China due to a 17% tax. Also note that iPhone sold in China do not display the flag of Taiwan do to CCP’s paranoia.

No, you don't need a converter, you need an adapter. These are different things. Converters convert VOLTAGE. If your equipment has a transformer, as all Smart Phones, Computers, and tablets have, you don't need a converter - the voltage is converted by the transformer.
