The government set up a working party in the early 1960s to study the idea of setting up a second television station in Hong Kong, where the only television at that time was the wired, subscription-supported Rediffusion Television. 2024年5月17日 · 無綫新聞 （英語： TVB News ），是 香港 電視廣播有限公司 （ 無綫電視 ）新聞及資訊部製作的新聞節目統一品牌。 無綫電視新聞部位處 電視廣播城 新聞及停車場大樓，在 尖沙咀 星光行 、 灣仔 電訊大廈、 立法會綜合大樓 會議廳及 香港交易所 交易大堂都設有直播室或新聞中心，以「無綫新聞，事事關心」作為官方 口號 （2010年一度改為「有新聞，就有無綫新聞」）。 有部分人指無綫新聞立場屬於親建制及親中共的新聞媒體，根據2016和2019年 香港中文大學 傳播與民意調查中心的香港新聞傳媒的公信力調查，無綫新聞在香港六間電子傳媒中的公信力排名最低 [2] [3] ，甚至被香港人拋棄 [4] 。
