You should have no problem using your debit card but pelase lot, it is likely that you will be charged a commission of between 2 & 3% on any withdrawal. 3.

- HK ATMs do not charge you for withdrawals. Your bank may charge you, and those charges may depend on which network you use in Hong Kong, your relat...
- You asked specifically about a "foreign debit card" so a cash advance fee should not apply; that's for credit cards. Shouldn't matter which ATM you...
- Exchange rates are not set by the HK bank. The rate is set by the clearing house (like Visa). Your bank may add some charge over the Visa exchange...
- Make sure you have a *debit* card. It should have either the Plus or Cirrus logo on it. Then just use the appropriate machine with Plus/Cirrus once...
- Your card will say "debit" and work if it has the Mastercard or Visa logo. Forget. Plus or Cirrus in HK.

The fee for each transaction was roughly $5 USD each time I withdrew money at an HSBC ATM in Hong Kong. With my failing memory, I believe I took out say -- $75 - $100 USD or so each time. So really, it's not THAT big a deal, but for me, the small kiosk I used on Cameron Road was better.
