Understand Eikando is a good spot to view the autumn foliage, but may be very crowded. Are there any other less touristy and/or 'off the beaten' track spots in that area ? Thank you.

You’ll need at least 4 full days to include Arashiyama and Nara. Day 1 is OK. Day 2: Go early to Kiyomizudera and walk the Higashiyama Walk in the morning.

Or the Thunderbird Express. We seem to be offered changing trains Tsuruga? Has anyone any idea if there is one direct train? Thanks. Reply.

We only have 10 days- and I would like to be in Tokyo for the first 3 nights and then 3 nights in Kyoto, leaving 4 days unplanned.
