1 Correct answer. When you use the lasso tool to make a selection the drawing tools and eraser tool will only work within the selected area. In order to draw outside this area you first need to release the selection, as Michele points out in her message. To release a selection you can go to the Select menu and choose Deselect.

Now go to the Object>Clipping Path>Option Now from this window change your Type Click drop down menu select Detect Edges. But it is a simple clipping path to remove a background from an image in InDesign.

I had the same issue a few minutes ago, this is what I did to have the eraser 'erase' instead of paint: - Right-Click on the Background Layer. - Convert to Smart Object. - Rasterize.
