2022年12月18日 · 明愛專上學院湯羅鳳賢社會科學院與明愛青少年及社區服務合作，於2021至2022年期間，進行了一項研究，以分析他們長期失眠者的睡眠失調情況、影響、其精神健康情況、成因及處理方法。 研究指出香港的失眠加權患病率為 39.4%，相當於香港 220 萬人受影響。 根據明愛青少年服務的服務個案反映，不少青少年也出現長期失眠的情況。 明愛白英奇專業學校健康科學系系主任、註冊藥劑師馮慕至博士分析，自行使用助眠藥物，有機會忽略其他睡眠失調成因，延誤病情。 而自行調較藥物劑量，亦可能帶來風險。 要針對成因，必須從多方面處理，例如配合認知行為治療法、環境管理、個人調適、促進精神健康等方法，才有機會達到理想效果。
