eTA 需在線申請，流程非常簡單。大多數申請者在幾分鐘內就會（通過電子郵件）收到 eTA 批准函。不過，如果您被要求提交證明文件，您的申請可能需要幾天時間來處理。您最好在預定前往加拿大的機票之前取得 eTA。
eTA 申請表僅有英語和法語版。您可以閱讀以下語言版本的申請表欄位說明，來幫助您進行申請。
您將需要：
•由免簽國簽發的有效護照
•有效的電子郵件地址。
•以下付款方式之一，用於支付7加元申請費（不能退款）
•Visa®, Mastercard®, American Express®
•Visa®, Mastercard® 或American Express® 預付卡
您每次只可為一人申請 eTA 並支付費用。例如，如果您是三口之家，則需要填寫和提交三份表格。
請務必立即列印您的付款收據。過後您將無法列印，也不會收到收據副本。

填表時，您填入的資訊將無法即時保存，並且您需要在一定的時間內填寫完成，不過如果時間不夠 ，您可以延長。屏幕上出現“Session timeout warning”(時間已到提示)框時，點擊“Continue session”（繼續填寫）按鈕。請閱讀填表說明，確保已準備好所有材料，再開始填寫。
