Some patients may receive additional benefit by increasing to 100 mg once daily (in the morning). Hypertensive type II diabetic patients w/ proteinuria ≥0.5 g/day Usual starting dose: 50 mg once daily. May be increased to 100 mg once daily based on BP response from 1 mth onwards after treatment initiation.
Overdosage. View Augmentin overdosage for action to be taken in the event of an overdose. Administration. Should be taken with food: Take at the start of meals for better absorption & to reduce GI discomfort. 1 g tab: The score line is only to facilitate breaking and ease of swallowing, do not divide. Contraindications.
Indications and Dosage. Oral. Echinococcosis. Adult: As treatment of cystic hydatid disease of the liver, lung and peritoneum: <60 kg: 15 mg/kg daily in 2 divided doses, up to Max total daily dose of 800 mg; ≥60 kg: 400 mg bid. Doses are given for 28 days followed by a 14-day drug-free period for a total of 3 cycles.
Do not start treatment if creatine phosphokinase (CPK) levels are significantly elevated (>5x ULN) at baseline. Discontinue treatment if clinically significant CPK level elevation (>10x ULN) occur, or if rhabdomyolysis is diagnosed or suspected. Discontinue if ILD is suspected.
