If you intend to travel on long distance trains, you will need to fix and itinerary and book ahead. Also, finalize your plans so you can book hotels ASAP.

Suwa Jinja Shirne's seat venue is difficult to obtain unless you're a citizen of Nagasaki or regions nearby. It's sold in 15 - 30 mins at the office. Chuo Koen Park venue is sold through Ticket Pia in August.

Is it a short shower and then it’s fine or does it rain all day?

We are at the very initial planning stage of our self-drive trip, have listed some of the main places that we want to visit so that we can look for accomodations and fill in the details later. Didnt include Hakodate though we would love to.
