2007年1月12日 · 主要負責肩負提供大學生IELTS考試及與僱主推廣IELTS評核標準為己任的IELTS CEPAS Management Unit，其IELTS經理Sissy Kwong說︰「至目前為止，已有45,000個考生透過此計劃報考IELTS，而公務員事務局、其他專業及僱主團體亦已採用IELTS作為招聘用的英文評核標準，所以這項計劃亦逐漸得到社會各界的認同。 「IELTS以0至9分表示考生的成績，它的總分、聆聽及閱讀單元的分數有整數分及半分，而書寫及會話單元的分數則只以整數分表示。 取得6分的考生屬於良好的運用者（Competent User），雖然有一些不準確的地方，但一般來說能有效地運用英語；取得7分的考生屬於優良的運用者（Good User），一般來說能理想地使用複雜的英語。
