People can view celestial objects with their own eyes, exploring the Universe for themselves. The observatory is kept open for extra hours at each special astronomical event, to give the public a chance to observe rare phenomenon. Tuesdays-Fridays 10:00~1200 and 14:00~16:00. Observatory. 台北101觀景台是全台灣最高的觀景台，在 388 公尺的高空俯瞰整個台北市，高度不僅是象山的兩倍多，更是唯一可以眺望基隆河谷景觀的景點。 360 度的四面環景中，除了大屯山系、淡水河系清楚，更清楚看見台灣與台北的發展史。 從西面的建築與交通要道訴說起近代台灣的工業發展歷程，配合棋盤式的都市規劃以及英國傳進日本的騎樓，搭配建築形式的演變以及都市規劃帶來的樓層高度差異，在 101 觀景台，不僅可以看見地理美景，更可以看到人文歷史的軌跡。
在台北市士林區的 台北市立天文科學教育館 是台灣唯一較大型的天文科學推廣機構，除推廣天文活動與觀星、太陽或特殊天象外，並出版《天文年鑑》、 曆象表 、天文快報（館內人員翻譯最新之天文資訊、已被該館網頁之天文速報取代）、 《臺北星空》 （ 頁面存檔備份 ，存於 網際網路檔案館 ）等科普刊物；專業的刊物則有《太陽黑子年報》與《天文學報》。 台南市南瀛天文館 [ 編輯] 南瀛天文教育園區 是由前 台南縣 政府於 大內區 （原大內鄉）所設立的天文教育館，工程總經費約新台幣6億元整，建設共分五期： 天文觀測區建築工程：天文觀測館、入口意象天橋、觀星平台、景觀步道及直徑9公尺的天文觀測圓頂、 天文觀測區展示規劃暨周邊環境改善工程。 天文展示館新建工程：為三層樓之建築，於2010年12月11日落成。
