Lantau Island (also Lantao Island, Lan Tao or Lan Tau) is the largest island in Hong Kong, located west of Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula, and is part of the New Territories. Administratively, most of Lantau Island is part of the Islands District of Hong Kong.

大 嶼 山 [註 1] （英語： Lantau Island ，亦作 Lantao Island [註 2] ，為爛頭島的音譯），位於 香港 西南面，為香港最大 島嶼 ，面積達148.36 平方公里 [2] ；比香港第二大的島嶼 香港島 的 面積 大上近一倍。 在 香港行政區劃 上，大嶼山大部分土地屬於 離島區 ，而大嶼山海域亦成為通往 澳門 、 珠海 和 中山 之主要航道（而位於大嶼山西北面內地水域、近 港珠澳大橋 藍海豚島的大嶼山1號及2號錨地，更是 深圳港 最南點），惟大嶼山東北部 青洲仔半島 一帶，包括 欣澳 、 竹篙灣 及 汲水門 等，則屬於 荃灣區 。 大嶼山過去由於 交通 不便、遠離 香港市區 （當時對外交通完全依靠 渡輪 和 街渡 ），不少土地均未開發，人煙稀少。
全長70公里的鳳凰徑橫跨大嶼山全島，遍佈多個觀景熱點和自然奇觀。 路徑分為12級難度，部分路段相當崎嶇，因此被選為 TransLantau飛越大嶼 賽事路徑之一，同時也是登山者和越野跑手喜歡的週末爬山景點。 此外，不要錯過香港第三高的山峰大東山，海拔869公尺，擁有美麗的日落景色。 秋冬時節來鳳凰徑，還可以欣賞到芒草在陽光下閃耀的景色。 大澳漁村 的歷史及遺跡源遠流長，可追溯至明朝。 捕魚為生的蜑家人以大澳為家，多年來聚居在水上棚屋，乃是遊大嶼山必到之境。 船隻穿梭於棚屋間的水道上，空氣中飄來陣陣海水味，漁村風光讓人拍出驚艷的照片。 可是，這裡怎會只是一個打卡景點？ 一些大澳原居民將棚屋變成咖啡廳蘇廬，供應一系列茶飲、精品咖啡和自家製蛋糕，讓你一邊欣賞水上風景，一邊吃蛋糕，多麼悠閒。
