2007年6月30日 · Epoxy is supposedly better for gap filling (which is great for some of my joints) and one doesn't have to clamp like for Titebond. But I do know from reading and personal experience that epoxy is more susceptible to breaking from shock. I don't like the fact that the epoxy broke at the glue joint.

2017年1月15日 · I would use Doug's approach. With the wood shown in the pic you're going to get some bleed and discolouration no matter what method you use and whether the epoxy is tinted or not. As Jim mentioned it soaks into wood and its because of this its used to stabilize wood that is in a state of decay.

Polyurethane would be the best finish but you would have to remove as much of the wax as possible. Scuff the surface before coating. Good luck and let us know what happens.
2021年3月9日 · Alumilite Clear Slow - is a poly-urethane resin that should be cast under pressure, to reduce any small bubbles to un-noticeable. It all depends what it is you want to make. Personally I use Alumilite Clear Slow, and I have a Princess Auto Pressure Pot. I let my blanks sit for at least 1-2 hours at 60psi.

We all know what happens then. to prevent this attack of the swelling wood fibers, I would suggest you laminate with contact Cement similare to laminating Formica.

What's the best way to glue the the handle to the tool? I was think 5 minute epoxy should do the trick and possible cut a couple notches on the bar where it will be inside the handle for
02-17-2008, 12:18 PM. Howard, I used some Chair Doctor Glue on some wooden kitchen chairs that we picked up at Value Village. This was over six months ago. The chairs had loose/wiggly joints. I put the chairs upside down on the bench and dribbled the glue all around each tenon -- I was VERY generous with the glue.
