2017年12月5日 · In a sense, antivirus software itself is a virus. Imagine a city with two police forces that cannot communicate and do not wear uniforms. The officer using his flashlight to look inside a building for a criminal looks like a criminal casing the joint to an officer from the other department.
I feel that a virus scan from an up-to-date bootable tool should be part of a standard computer maintenance procedure. Antivirus software running over the operating system can only ever be trusted to a certain extent.

I imagine the answer may be different for Windows 7 and Windows 8, since Windows Defender in Windows 8 has more features and acts more like an actual antivirus program.
2012年7月18日 · I have a RAID0 which reads about 20% faster than the SSD -- so I put my antivirus on the RAID0. Plus, I don't like to make a ton of little writes to my SSD every time the AV needs a new update. Plus, I think that I get a mild performance boost by having software loaded in roughly equal measures from 2 drives, rather than all bottleneck through the SSD.

Is there a simple way (i.e. instructions for a beginner) that can disable all third-party antivirus software and firewall products on a computer? Note: I define 3rd-party as not signed by Microsoft Windows (i.e., even Microsoft Corporation isn't good enough, as they're not part of the core OS).
