On 3/2/2024 afternoon, I walked into Hertz Car Rental Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and rented an economy tier small sedan (Honda Civic) in office (no reservation or pre-payment). The price of $520.50 for 4 days ($109/day) was presented to me on the agent's computer screen, when I signed on their POS device, and paid with my credit card.
2023年9月9日 · I rented a car with Hertz through the Capital One portal last week. The total via the portal was $212, that’s $156 due at booking and $55 at pick up. Well, after returning the vehicle, I was charged an additional $105 by Hertz for “CONCESSION FEE RECOVERY,” “CUSTOMER FACILITY CHARGE,” and “TAX”.
Hertz is the absolute worst, and I don't say this mildly. Many people here are saying they rented without issue, but a car rental company shouldn't be judged when everything goes well, they should be judged when things don't go as planned.
2020年8月27日 · Covid means that there are no tourists, and many of our rental car companies bought new fleets of vehicles that are more gathering dust. Our auction companies are chocka block. What I'm getting at is that now is probably the best time to buy from a rental company as the cars are depreciating like crazy and they need to move them on.

I travel a lot, and rent a lot of cars, mostly via Avis, Alamo & National, as they provide a better rental experience, in my opinion. It's been a while since I rented from Hertz, so I don't remember the experience so much.
2022年2月28日 · Every airport that I have been to has a main Hertz counter and then a Hertz Gold counter in the parking garage area. If you are a Hertz Gold member, you can go directly to that counter. However, if you provide Hertz your flight information, they will more than likely have your name on an electronic board in the parking garage after you land.
I’ll keep pushing it back for as long as they let me until either I’m not allowed to reschedule anymore or I actually have use for a rental car. Even if they don’t let me anymore I’m only out $50 as that’s the cheapest one-day rental I can find.
2022年7月26日 · The car rental place already knows you're doing rides under the uber app, so you're not hiding that fact from them, that's how it's going through uber to rent. As you don't own the car, same as anyone buying their car through a lender, the insurance policy pays out to the lender.
