Services offered at the Capitol Hill Massage Therapy Clinic: Massage Therapy is the manual manipulation of soft tissues and joints. It includes active and passive techniques, hydrotherapy and therapeutic exercises which all help to rehabilitate musculoskeletal dysfunctions.
Your first visit will be approximately 45-60 minutes in duration. Your therapist will conduct a thorough assessment of your condition which will determine which techniques will most benefit you. During your massage only the area being treated will be exposed.
Massage helps to relieve post-exercise muscle soreness. However, if the soreness is chronic due to poor posture, then you need to improve your posture. This can be done through stretching, strengthening and improved body awareness. If the soreness is due to deconditioning, then you will have to build up the strength in your muscles again.
