The Pre A1 Starters (YLE Starters) exam is made up of Listening, Reading and Writing, and Speaking papers, which last up to 45 minutes in total.
Cambridge English: Young Learners is a series of fun, motivating English language tests for children in primary and lower secondary education. The tests are an excellent way for children to gain confidence and improve their English. There are three levels: Cambridge English: Starters. Cambridge English: Movers.
Pre A1 Starters, A1 Movers and A2 Flyers are designed specifically for young learners aged 6–12. They are fun, colourful and activity based, motivating children to learn.
Results. There is no pass or fail and all children receive a certificate which shows how many shields they have received (out of a maximum of five) for each part of the test. A Pre A1 Starters certificate is a great way to celebrate children’s achievement, build their confidence and reward their own individual ability.
