A quick Google search produced these results: "Degree Celsius" = 420,000. "Degrees Celsius" = 2,360,000. So it's hardly uncommon to use the plural.

Decimal: (for both direction and temperature) 0.5 degrees (spoken = nought/zero point five degrees) 1° (spoken = one degree) 2° spoken = two degrees. 2.5 degrees = two point five degrees.

Celsius degrees, however, is used when we are considering a measurement of a change in temperature. I've learned this in my physics courses, particularly in thermal expansion.

F. It's twenty-one degrees below zero. If you say "degrees", you have to say "zero". Of course, twenty-one below would be said in the context of talking about temperatures so the meaning was clear. A - F are all possible but the ones using minus would be less common in everyday conversation in my experience living in a very cold state.
2014年11月17日 · Nov 17, 2014. #2. The degree centigrade was renamed the degree Celsius in 1948, by the official body in charge of naming metric units. It's taking a long time for common use to catch up with scientific use. In Britain, Celsius now seems to be much commoner even in everyday language.
2007年3月23日 · Mar 23, 2007. #4. BE - minus nineteen point nine degrees (Celsius). Celsius is often omitted. The use of negative instead of minus would be very unusual. The "below" version would be understood, but it isn't normal here though temperatures are occasionally stated as xxx degrees below zero.
