  1. Hats Off Day is returning to Burnaby Heights on Saturday, June 1, 2024. Hastings Street will be transformed this time into a magical wonderland for the 2024 theme of “Once Upon a Time.”

    A: Our Event Program has all the event information, including entertainment and other details. The Event Program will be available from the volunteers at the barricades at almost every intersection. You can find live music on every block and there are two stages.     A: Small vehicle and pedestrian entries should enter on Dundas off of Gamma Avenue and settle on Beta Avenue at the Parade Assembly area. Large Vehicle entries should enter at Gamma and Hastings, and park along Hastings Street, lining up to Beta. Parade entries must all register with the Parade Coordinator at Beta and Hastings.

    A: The buses that normally run along Hastings Street have been rerouted to Pender Street (one block to the south of Hastings Street).

    A: There are portable washrooms at these intersection: Esmond Ave (SE) , MacDonald Ave (SE), Madison Ave (NW), Alpha Ave (SW), Beta Ave (SE) either to the north or south of Hastings Street. Look for directional signage.

    A: Go to the RCMP’s Community Police Office at 4191 Hastings Street (next door to the Dairy Queen). If a child is missing, STAY WITH THE CHILD (No matter what their age) and help them to find a responsible RCMP Representative to take them to the CPO.

    A: St. John’s Ambulance is located at Hastings and Carleton next to 4192 Hastings Street for minor incidents. If it is an emergency, phone 9-1-1.

    A: Confederation School off Dundas (west of Gamma), before noon. There is no charge to pick up before noon. After 12 p.m., the vehicles will be moved to Mundie’s Towing at 5938 Kingsway at Griffiths, where there a towing charge will be applied.
