I think "next Wednesday" simply means the one immediately upcoming from the current point in time. Ie. from today (Sunday 10th June) that'd be Wednesday 13th June. "This Wednesday" would simply mean the one this week, if it's not Wednesday yet. If talking of the one after the upcoming (20th June), the term "Wednesday after next" should be used.

I used to do this exact job in a next local to me. You generally tag, hang and cube clothes that come into the stockroom, then put them out in the stockroom. What eddy359 said, along with finding clothes when someone from the shop floor radios through with a request for a certain size or whatever from a customer, and taking them to the shop assistant.
