The purpose of publishing the list of Registered Nurses is to inform the public that the name of each person on the list has been added to the Register of Nurses kept by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong according to section 5 of the Nurses Registration
「護協」是一個由護士自發組成，並依據香港政府職工會條例所註冊的護士工會，獨立於任何機構。 「護協」成立至今一直以「立足專業、關心社會、改善醫療、保障市民」為宗旨，不斷為護理同業爭取權益及改善本地的護理服務質素，而本會的努力亦得到同業的支持。 加入「護協」，屬自願性質，「護協」的會員制度分為普通會員及永久會員。 會員均來自不同的護理職級，包括登記護士、註冊護士及護士學生。 他們受僱於不同機構，如醫院管理局、衞生署、社會福利署、私家醫院、非政府組織和志願團體等。 現時全港有超過五萬名護士，當中有超過6成護士為「護協」會員，「護協」已發展成為全港最大的護士工會。 「護協」是依據香港護士協會會章所定下來的規則而成立及組成。 「護協」的運作是由中央執行委員會決定和策劃，並由職員執行。
