It makes enzymes that help digest food and hormones that help manage blood sugar. The most common type of pancreatic cancer is pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.
胰臟癌常見症狀. 早期胰臟癌通常不會引起任何症狀，當出現症狀時，腫瘤通常已經生長至較大的體積，或癌細胞已經擴散到胰臟外部。 以下是一些中、晚期胰臟癌的常見症狀： 黃疸是不少胰臟癌病人最初發現的症狀之一。 除眼睛和皮膚發黃之外，黃疸亦有可能導致尿液顏色變濃，出現茶色尿、糞便變淺色或油性，以及皮膚瘙癢等。 在正常情況下，肝臟會釋放膽汁，並通過膽總管進入腸道，幫助分解脂肪，並隨糞便離開人體。 但當膽總管阻塞時，膽汁無法進入腸道，體內的膽紅素就會增加，引發黃疸。 黃疸這個症狀的出現時間亦視乎腫瘤生長的位置。 部分腫瘤生長在膽總管附近，即使腫瘤體積小，也有可能因為壓到膽管而引起黃疸，令患者有機會在病情較輕的階段察覺症狀。
