2019年11月14日 · 清蒸臭豆腐. 臭豆腐真的是一種很特別、有趣的食物，因為通常我們說某個東西「臭」是帶負面含意，但是臭豆腐的臭卻讓人覺得聞起來很「香」。 記得先前去 深坑老街逛逛 時，發現好多家都是賣臭豆腐的，老街上不時也飄散著臭豆腐的”香氣”，當時剛好看到一個外國的小女孩坐在她爸爸的肩膀上，經過他們旁邊時，剛好聽到小女孩喊著 “It’s so smelly!” (好臭!) 聽完這句我就笑了。 我想應該不多外國人能明白這”又臭又香”臭豆腐的美味吧。 其實我也還滿好奇自己小時候第一次聞到臭豆腐的反應，不過很小當然沒記憶，等到有記憶時，已經是和父母吵著說想吃臭豆腐的時候了。 臭豆腐本身就有十足的風味，所以真的只要簡單的調味一下就能展現它的美味了。

Stinky tofu (Chinese: 臭豆腐; pinyin: chòu dòufu) is a Chinese form of fermented tofu that has a strong odor. It is usually sold at night markets or roadside stands as a snack, or in lunch bars as a side dish, rather than in restaurants. Traditionally the dish is fermented in a brine with vegetables and meat, sometimes for months.

1. 臭豆腐 （Stinky Tofu）
多數外國人討厭的臭豆腐英文大家多少都有聽過吧～ stinky 的意思本身就帶有惡臭、難聞，一講出來通常外國人就會知道是什麼東西，甚至還會露出討厭的表情。
2. 茶葉蛋（Tea Eggs）
這個也是中英直譯，但如果你直接講給外國人聽他們可能會一頭霧水，這時候你就可以適時的加一些解釋： ▶️ They take hard-boiled eggs and they marinade them in a mixture of soy sauce, tea, and other spices.
3. 炸雞排（Deep Fried Chicken）
炸雞排通常會先想到 fried chicken，但其實 deep fried 會更貼切一點，因為 deep fried 有放進充滿油的鍋子裡炸的意思。

congee 為粥的總稱。
2. 芒果剉冰（Mango Shaved Ice）
Shaved ice 是剉冰的意思，前面的水果是可以自由替換的唷！

Green onion 就是青蔥的意思， 也可以稱作 scallion，而任何的煎過的餅都可以叫做 pancake，台灣常見的日式鬆餅（圓的那種）或是薄餅都可以算是。
1. 滷肉飯（Braised Pork on Rice）
「滷」雖然是中式常見的煮法，但外國並沒有這種做法，所以真的要翻的話，比較接近的字就是 braised（燉），要更貼切一點的說法，可以用 soy braised，就是用醬油燉煮，像是滷蛋可以說 soy braised egg。
2. 棺材板（Coffin Bread）
Coffin 就是棺材的意思。
3. 小籠包（Steamed Pork Buns）
Steam 是蒸的意思，所以 steamed pork buns 直譯成中文就是蒸的豬肉包。
