  7. 2010年7月9日 · You can try to register a 'dormant'company for VAT but HMRC are very suspicious of registering a business with no proof of trading. You could register for VAT, recover £1m of inout tax incurred on set-up costs/buildings and then never ever formally trade so if you do want to register for VAT then HMRC will need proof of intention to trade (bank account, invoices to the company, purchases, etc).
