We don't want to take the group tours as shopping in Gotemba is just an hour or two, and we want to spend at least 4-5 hours there if possible. Questions:

I have done a few flea markets in Japan and do enjoy it but I read mixed reviews about this one and nothing quite recent. Thank you very much for your help.

Golden Gai is another group of narrow streets full of izakayas and bars. Sadly it became another place that is packed with foreign tourists and lost its charm.
